585 Buses in Pulogadung Terminal Ready to Carry Homecomers

In order to provide best service for homecomers during homecoming season, Pulogadung Terminal management has prepared 585 inter-city inter-province (AKAP) buses. The mass homecoming is predicted to happen three days prior to the Ied-ul Fitr.

Those buses are provided from 117 autobus companies which serve 6 main routes, West Java, Central Java, East Java, Merak (Banten), Sumatera and Nusa Tenggara Barat (NTB).

“We are ready to serve homecomers. Each of autobus companies preparing at least 5 fleets. additional fleet is also prepared," said Pulogadung Terminal Head, Simon Ginting, Thursday (7/9).

Relayed on beritajakarta.com, hundreds of homecomers flocked in terminal since morning.

According to Ginting, there is no sign of peak homecoming for today. Indeed there is a bit

higher compared than usual. The number of passengers increasing between 550 – 600 since last Monday, mostly destination place are Surabaya, Madura and NTB.

In conjunction with the condition, the number of homecomer is predicted to reach 1,000 people crowd the terminal on the next Sunday (7/11). Even on the D-3 it can reach up to 4,500 passengers.

“We predict, passenger will crowd on next Saturday as most of employees start to get the day off and have received holiday allowance (THR). Most of their destinations are Central Java, West Java and East Java,” he told.

On the other hands, at least as much as 170 joint personnel are standby to safeguard homecoming flow at Pulogadung terminal.
